solemn truth, we speak about what we know and testify about what we have seen, but you people do not accept our testimony. \u00a0If I have told you people about earthly things and you don\u2019t believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2018\/12\/30\/a-monotonous-cycle-revisited-part-1\/#_ftn1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/17\/a-monotonous-cycle-part-5\/#_rude\">hinted<\/a> at how Jesus\u2019 teaching informs my understanding of the Old Testament.\u00a0 Here I intend to get explicit about these <em>earthly things<\/em>.\u00a0 Though I will do my best to make these essays interesting, the very repetitiveness of the subject matter may seem like <em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/13\/a-monotonous-cycle-part-1\/\">A Monotonous Cycle<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the general introduction (Genesis 1:26-30 Tanakh):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And G-d <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/hebrew-dictionary\/#_\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym\">\u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd<\/a>)<\/em> said: &#8216;Let us make man earth&#8217;. \u00a0And G-d <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd)<\/em> created man <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u00e2d\u00e2m<em>, \u05d4\u05d0\u05d3\u05dd)<\/em> in His own image, in the image of G-d <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd)<\/em> created He him; male and female created He them. \u00a0And G-d <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd)<\/em> blessed them; and G-d <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd)<\/em> said unto them: &#8216;Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creepeth upon the earth&#8217; <em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/08\/10\/davids-forgiveness-part-5\/#_Table23\">Table<\/a>]<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And G-d every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed&#8211;to you it shall be for food; and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2\">\u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2<\/a>) in the <a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/John+1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">opening chapter<\/a> of John\u2019s Gospel narrative (Genesis 2:4-9 Tanakh):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>These are href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/hebrew-dictionary\/#_\u1e6d\u00f4b\">\u05d8\u05d5\u05d1<\/a> (<em>\u1e6d\u00f4b<\/em>).\u00a0 The <em>light <\/em>was <a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Genesis+1:4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u05d8\u05d5\u05d1<\/a> (<em>\u1e6d\u00f4b<\/em>).\u00a0 The <em>dry land<\/em> amidst the <em>gathering together of the waters<\/em> was <a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Genesis+1:10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u05d8\u05d5\u05d1<\/a> href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2018\/12\/30\/a-monotonous-cycle-revisited-part-1\/#_ftn5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a> were <a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Genesis+1:25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u05d8\u05d5\u05d1<\/a> (<em>\u1e6d\u00f4b<\/em>).\u00a0 In fact, <em>every thing that He<\/em> [<em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<\/em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd] <em>had made<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2018\/12\/30\/a-monotonous-cycle-revisited-part-1\/#_ftn6\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a> was <a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Genesis+1:31\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u05d8\u05d5\u05d1<\/a> (<em>\u1e6d\u00f4b<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>The Hebrew word translated <em>evil<\/em> was <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/hebrew-dictionary\/#_ra\u02bd\">\u05d5\u05e8\u05e2<\/a> (<em>r\u00e2\u02bd\u00e2h<\/em>) and this is its first occurrence.\u00a0 In other words, \u05d5\u05e8\u05e2 (<em>r\u00e2\u02bd\u00e2h<\/em>) is as yet unknown.\u00a0 The story continued (Genesis 2:15-17 Tanakh):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>And HaShem <em>(<\/em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<em>, \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4)<\/em> G-d <em>(<\/em>\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd)<\/em> took the man and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.&#8217;<\/p>\n<p>Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife, and they
