of Egypt.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>Here, too, <em>fear <\/em>was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?t=kjv&amp;strongs=h3372\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8\u05b8\u059c\u05d0<\/a> (<em>yare&#8217;<\/em>; Septuagint: <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/fo.html#fobhsqe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u03c6\u03bf\u03b2\u1fc6\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5<\/a>, a form of <a of <em>fear <\/em>as it relates to the Lord: a heart to <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_Tablea\">hear<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_Tableb\">do<\/a> <em>whatsoever the Lord our God shall speak<\/em>.\u00a0 This is the first moment I think I have understood the psalmist: <em>The fear<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_ftn1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a><em> of the Lord is pure, enduring for ever and ever<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_ftn2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since I have read the Bible before and know that most in Israel did not have a heart to <a href=\"#_Tablea\">hear<\/a> and <a href=\"#_Tableb\">do<\/a> <em>whatsoever the Lord our God shall speak<\/em>, my religious mind can fall from this definition of <em>fear of the Lord <\/em>all too easily.\u00a0 It begins to substitute fear of the kind of things that happened to Israel in <em><a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Colossians+1:13\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the power of darkness<\/a> <\/em>when they did not have <em>the fear of the Lord<\/em>: a heart to <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_Tablea\">hear<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_Tableb\">do<\/a> <em>whatsoever the Lord our God shall speak<\/em>.\u00a0 To make such a substitution is similar to the thinking of those who <em>exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever!<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/11\/29\/fear-deuteronomy-part-16\/#_ftn3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And as I consider Paul\u2019s loving (<a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Romans+9:1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Romans 9:1-5<\/a>) diagnosis of Israel\u2019s history, faith is clearly an aspect of <em>the fear of the Lord <\/em>(Romans 9:30-32a NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>What shall we say then?\u2014that the Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness obtained it, that is, a righteousness that is by faith, but Israel even though pursuing a law of righteousness did not attain <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2019\/03\/18\/a-monotonous-cycle-revisited-part-2\/#_ftn20\">it<\/a> <em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2019\/03\/18\/a-monotonous-cycle-revisited-part-2\/#_Table22\">Table<\/a>]<\/em>. \u00a0Why not?\u00a0 Because they pursued it not by faith but (as if it were possible) by <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2019\/03\/18\/a-monotonous-cycle-revisited-part-2\/#_ftn21\">works<\/a> <em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2019\/01\/13\/romans-part-91\/#_Table15\">Table<\/a>].<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul didn\u2019t eliminate the concept of service from the Gospel of Jesus Christ: <em>God, whom I serve <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/la.html#latreuw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u03bb\u03b1\u03c4\u03c1\u03b5\u1f7b\u03c9<\/a>)<em> in my spirit in the gospel of his Son<\/em>,<a (<em>`abad<\/em>).\u00a0 It was translated <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kai.html#kai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u03ba\u03b1\u1f76<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/netbible.org\/bible\/Matthew+4:10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Satan<\/a>.\u00a0 <em>But now we have been released from the law<\/em>, Paul described one result of the Gospel, <em>because we have died to what controlled us, so that we may serve <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/do.html#douleuein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener
