\u05d5\u05b0\u05bd\u05d4\u05b4\u05ea\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05bd\u05e8\u05b0\u05d3\u0597\u05d5\u05bc, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?t=kjv&amp;strongs=h6504\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b7\u05d3<\/a> (<em>p\u0101ra\u1e0f<\/em>), in the Tanakh (and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/kjv\/psa\/22\/14\/t_bibles_500014\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">others<\/a>) was unique and specific.\u00a0 A scan of the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2021\/02\/20\/psalm-22-part-7\/#_Tablea\">table<\/a> below of all occurrences of forms of \u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b7\u05d3 (<em>p\u0101ra\u1e0f<\/em>) in the Old Testament is an easy way to satisfy myself that the form \u05d5\u05b0\u05bd\u05d4\u05b4\u05ea\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05bd\u05e8\u05b0\u05d3\u0597\u05d5\u05bc is unique among them.\u00a0 But my Hebrew isn\u2019t good enough to say that \u05d5\u05b0\u05bd\u05d4\u05b4\u05ea\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05bd\u05e8\u05b0\u05d3\u0597\u05d5\u05bc is so specific as <em>are out of joint<\/em>.\u00a0 Yet it is this specificity that causes me to think of Jesus hanging on the cross: \u201cThe strain of the body suspended on the cross would all but dislocate the joints of the arms, and would be felt in every bone of the body.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2021\/02\/20\/psalm-22-part-7\/#_ftn1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>A more contemporary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chabad.org\/library\/bible_cdo\/aid\/16243\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">translation<\/a> of the Tanakh rendered \u05d5\u05b0\u05bd\u05d4\u05b4\u05ea\u05b0\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05bd\u05e8\u05b0\u05d3\u0597\u05d5\u05bc <em>were separated<\/em>.\u00a0 Would that direct my thoughts to Jesus and the cross if I had never heard <em>are out of joint<\/em>?\u00a0 The NETS translation of the Greek <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/die.html#dieskorpisqh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03b4\u03b9\u03b5\u03c3\u03ba\u03bf\u03c1\u03c0\u1f77\u03c3\u03b8\u03b7<\/a> (a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/dias.html#diaskorpizw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03b4\u03b9\u03b1\u03c3\u03ba\u03bf\u03c1\u03c0\u03af\u03b6\u03c9<\/a>) <em>were scattered<\/em> would have led me toward a more figurative understanding if spoken by a living person, though I may be more willing now to have taken it more literally if spoken by the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/08\/17\/the-will-of-god-jesus-part-2\/#_dead\">dead<\/a>.\u00a0 Neither interpretation would have led me to Jesus and the cross.<\/p>\n<p>Between the two, <em>were scattered <\/em>(NETS) is a more accurate rendering of \u03b4\u03b9\u03b5\u03c3\u03ba\u03bf\u03c1\u03c0\u1f77\u03c3\u03b8\u03b7 than <em>are loosened <\/em>(English Elpenor).\u00a0 When I consider the forms of \u03b4\u03b9\u03b1\u03c3\u03ba\u03bf\u03c1\u03c0\u03af\u03b6\u03c9 found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/greek\/1287.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New Testament<\/a> it seems that the English translators of the Elpenor version of the Septuagint were reaching to better accommodate <em>are out of joint<\/em>.\u00a0 There was only one other occurrence of a form of \u03b4\u03b9\u03b1\u03c3\u03ba\u03bf\u03c1\u03c0\u03af\u03b6\u03c9 as the translation of a form of more closely at how the Rabbis translated forms of \u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b7\u05d3 (<em>p\u0101ra\u1e0f<\/em>) in the Septuagint.\u00a0 Two forms of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/afo.html#aforizw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03c6\u03bf\u03c1\u03af\u03b6\u03c9<\/a> were chosen for the earliest occurrences in into four heads.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>If I visualize this wordstring as a map: at the point were the four rivers first part, divide or separate they might be described as <em>dislocated<\/em>.\u00a0 Farther downstream as the rivers separate more and more they might be described as <em>scattered<\/em>.\u00a0 Whether the rivers <em>are dislocated<\/em> by inches or <em>scattered <\/em>by my miles, they <em>are separated<\/em>.\u00a0 If the Hebrew doesn\u2019t specify where we are on the map so to speak (and I\u2019m assuming from the translations cited above that it doesn\u2019t) the point between <em>dislocated <\/em>and <em>scattered<\/em> is an interpretation made by the translators.\u00a0 That\u2019s actually quite a lot of clarity from the first occurrence of \u05d9\u05b4\u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b5\u0594\u05d3, a form of \u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b7\u05d3 (<em>p\u0101ra\u1e0f<\/em>) in Genesis.<\/p>\n<p>There were three other occurrences translated with forms of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/dias.html#diaspeirw\" target=\"_blank\" \u05d5\u05bc\u05de\u05b0\u05e4\u05b9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d3\u0599\u2014another form of \u05e4\u05bc\u05b8\u05e8\u05b7\u05d3 (<em>p\u0101ra\u1e0f<\/em>), <em>and dispersed<\/em> (Tanakh), <em>and spread<\/em> (NET)\u2014as a redundant synonym of \u05de\u05b0\u05e4\u05bb\u05d6\u05bc\u05b8\u05a4\u05e8\u2014a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blueletterbible.org\/lang\/lexicon\/lexicon.cfm?t=kjv&amp;strongs=h6340\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u05e4\u05d6\u05e8<\/a> (<em>p\u0304zr<\/em>), <em>scattered abroad <\/em>(Tanakh), <em>that is dispersed<\/em> (NET).\u00a0 A <em>certain people scattered abroad and<\/em> separated <em>among the people<\/em> sounds like an authentic complaint a foreign official might lodge against Israel.\u00a0 It sounds exactly like Haman\u2019s complaint: <em>their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king&#8217;s laws<\/em>.\u00a0 So why translate separated<\/em> from God <em>with whores<\/em>, but they <em>were associating with whores<\/em> (NETS), they <em>mingled themselves with harlots<\/em>.\u00a0 Both are perfectly acceptable translations of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/sunef.html#sunefuronto\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c3\u03c5\u03bd\u03b5\u03c6\u1f7b\u03c1\u03bf\u03bd\u03c4\u03bf<\/a> (a form of <a in Psalm 22:14 appears to be another reason that Jesus may have preferred<a
