Part 2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Before I could write about <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/11\/antichrist-part-1\/\">Lars von Trier\u2019s<\/a> movie, I had to return to what John the Apostle had to say about <i>antichrist<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/antic.html#anticristos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03bd\u03c4\u03af\u03c7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2<\/a>).\u00a0 1 John 2:3-6 served as a preface and point of departure for that study.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Now by this we know that we have come to know God: if we keep his commandments.\u00a0 The one who says<em><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote1sym\" name=\"sdfootnote1anc\"><sup>1<\/sup><\/a><\/em> \u201cI have come to know God\u201d and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person.\u00a0 But whoever obeys his word, truly in this person the love <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>) <\/em>of God has been perfected <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/tet.html#teteleiwtai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c4\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5\u03bb\u03b5\u03af\u03c9\u03c4\u03b1\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/tel.html#teleiow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c4\u03b5\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9\u03cc\u03c9<\/a>).<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote2sym\" name=\"sdfootnote2anc\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In other words God\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>, when it is perfected, empowers me to keep his commandments.\u00a0 <i>For this is the love <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>)<i> of God: that we keep his commandments<\/i>, John penned later in the same letter.<i>\u00a0 And his commandments do not weigh us down, because everyone who has been fathered by God conquers the world<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote3sym\" name=\"sdfootnote3anc\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a> \u00a0Or as Paul said, <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a> <i>is the fulfillment of the law<\/i>,<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote4sym\" name=\"sdfootnote4anc\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a> and, <i>the one bringing forth in you <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/02\/01\/romans-part-38\/\">both<\/a> the desire <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/qe.html#qelein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03b8\u03ad\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/qe.html#qelw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03b8\u03ad\u03bb\u03c9<\/a>) <i>and the effort \u2013 for the sake of his good pleasure \u2013 is <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2018\/12\/28\/father-forgive-them-part-5\/#_ftn39\">God<\/a><\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote5sym\" name=\"sdfootnote5anc\"><sup>5<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>God\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a> is perfected in me by faith: <i>we have come to know and to believe the love<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaphn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7\u03bd<\/a>, another form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>) <i>that God has in us.\u00a0 God is love<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>), <i>and the one who resides in love<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>) <i>resides in God, and God resides<\/i><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote6sym\" name=\"sdfootnote6anc\"><sup>6<\/sup><\/a><i> in him <\/i>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/08\/04\/romans-part-7\/#_Table3\">Table<\/a>]<i>.\u00a0 By this love<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>) <i>is perfected<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/tet.html#teteleiwtai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c4\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5\u03bb\u03b5\u03af\u03c9\u03c4\u03b1\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/tel.html#teleiow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c4\u03b5\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9\u03cc\u03c9<\/a>) <i>with us<\/i>\u2026<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote7sym\" name=\"sdfootnote7anc\"><sup>7<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 Not only the <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a> but the faith was supplied by God\u2014<i>But the fruit of the Spirit is love<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaph\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>), <i>joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/pi.html#pistis\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c0\u03af\u03c3\u03c4\u03b9\u03c2<\/a>)<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote8sym\" name=\"sdfootnote8anc\"><sup>8<\/sup><\/a>\u2014if I had but gotten out of his way.\u00a0 My religious mind stumbled over John\u2019s statement, <i>The one who says \u201cI have come to know God\u201d and yet does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in such a person<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote9sym\" name=\"sdfootnote9anc\"><sup>9<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I thought I could avoid the stigma of being called a liar and prove myself true by obeying\u2014first the law then Paul\u2019s definition of love\u2014in my own strength.\u00a0 I <i>set aside God\u2019s grace, because if righteousness could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!<\/i><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote10sym\" name=\"sdfootnote10anc\"><sup>10<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 A <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/bible\/1+John+5:3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">note<\/a> in the NET on the phrase <i>love of God <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/bible\/1+John+5:3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1 John 5:3 NET<\/a>), reads: \u201cOnce again the genitive could be understood as (1) objective, (2) subjective, or (3) both.\u00a0 Here an objective sense is more likely (believers\u2019 love for God) because in the previous verse it is clear that God is the object of believers\u2019 love.\u201d \u00a0What is far more obvious to me now is that my love <i>for<\/i> God was not sufficient to <i>keep his commandments<\/i>, and all my efforts to do so did <i>weigh <\/i>[me]<i> down<\/i>, when compared to being buoyed up by the fruit of his Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Still, I had received the desire (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/qe.html#qelein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03b8\u03ad\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd<\/a>) to keep his commandments, though God\u2019s love was not yet perfected in me.\u00a0 <i>For I want<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/qe.html#qelein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03b8\u03ad\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd<\/a>) <i>to do the good, <\/i>Paul lamented in Romans,<i> but <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2020\/10\/01\/a-shadow-of-the-good-things-part-6\/#_ftn14\">I cannot do it<\/a><\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote11sym\" name=\"sdfootnote11anc\"><sup>11<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 My friends\u2019 desires, on the other hand, did not suddenly change.\u00a0 And nothing I said mattered to them.\u00a0 Their ongoing sinful behavior tormented me.\u00a0 Why don\u2019t they see? I wondered.<\/p>\n<p><i>Lord, they themselves know that <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/10\/introduction-2\/\">I imprisoned<\/a> and beat those in the various synagogues who believed in you<\/i>,<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote12sym\" name=\"sdfootnote12anc\"><sup>12<\/sup><\/a> Paul replied when the Lord had said to him, <i>Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/07\/13\/the-jerusalem-council\/#sdfootnote58sym\">testimony<\/a> about me<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote13sym\" name=\"sdfootnote13anc\"><sup>13<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 <i>And when the blood of your witness Stephen <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/10\/17\/romans-part-27\/#sdfootnote11sym\">was shed<\/a><\/i>, Paul continued, <i>I myself was standing nearby, <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/10\/17\/romans-part-27\/#sdfootnote12sym\">approving<\/a>, and guarding the cloaks of those who were killing him<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote14sym\" name=\"sdfootnote14anc\"><sup>14<\/sup><\/a> \u00a0It seemed to me that since someone like I was had changed (repented) that everyone should change.\u00a0 <i>By this we know that we are in him<\/i>, John wrote.\u00a0 <i>The one who says he resides in God ought <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03c9<\/a>) <i>himself to walk just as Jesus walked<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote15sym\" name=\"sdfootnote15anc\"><sup>15<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There is nothing wrong with translating <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9<\/a> <i>ought<\/i>:\u00a0 <i>\u201cWe have a law, and according to our law he ought<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03c9<\/a>) <i>to die, because he claimed to be the Son of God!\u201d<\/i><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote16sym\" name=\"sdfootnote16anc\"><sup>16<\/sup><\/a> religious leaders said of Jesus.\u00a0 But with my predilection for proving myself\u2014\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/23\/who-am-i-part-3\/\">what I could do for God<\/a>\u201d\u2014I need to remember that <i>to owe<\/i> is the primary meaning of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9<\/a>:\u00a0 <i>Now if<\/i> [Onesimus] <i>has defrauded you of anything, <\/i>Paul wrote Philemon,<i> or owes<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03b5\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/of.html#ofeilw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f40\u03c6\u03b5\u03af\u03bb\u03c9<\/a>) <i>you anything, charge<\/i><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote17sym\" name=\"sdfootnote17anc\"><sup>17<\/sup><\/a><i> what he owes to me<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote18sym\" name=\"sdfootnote18anc\"><sup>18<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 My religious mind has used <i>ought<\/i> to turn John\u2019s statement on its head.\u00a0 I have believed that anything but absolute conformity on my part <i>to walk just as Jesus walked<\/i> is proof that I am not <i>in him<\/i> and do not <i>reside in God<\/i>, despite the fact that a sense of obligation, that I <i>owe<\/i> this to Him, has been with me since I believed.\u00a0 My friends did not think they <i>owed<\/i> this to God, or anyone else, simply because I began to believe.<\/p>\n<p><i>Children, it is the last hour<\/i>, John wrote, <i>and just as you heard that <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2023\/09\/19\/the-day-of-the-lord-part-5\/#sdfootnote14sym\">the<\/a> antichrist<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/antic.html#anticristos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03bd\u03c4\u03af\u03c7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2<\/a>) <i>is coming, so now many antichrists<\/i> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/antic.html#anticristoi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03bd\u03c4\u03af\u03c7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/antic.html#anticristos\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03bd\u03c4\u03af\u03c7\u03c1\u03b9\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2<\/a>) <i>have appeared.\u00a0 We know from this that it is the last hour. \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2023\/09\/19\/the-day-of-the-lord-part-5\/#sdfootnote14sym\">They went out<\/a> <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/exh.html#exhlqan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f10\u03be\u1fc6\u03bb\u03b8\u03b1\u03bd<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/exer.html#exercomai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f10\u03be\u03ad\u03c1\u03c7\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9<\/a>) <i>from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/mem.html#memenhkeisan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03bc\u03b5\u03bc\u03b5\u03bd\u03ae\u03ba\u03b5\u03b9\u03c3\u03b1\u03bd<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/men.html#menw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>) <i>with us.\u00a0 But they went out from us to demonstrate that all of them do not belong to us<\/i>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote19sym\" name=\"sdfootnote19anc\"><sup>19<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 And I think 1 John 2:3-6 has more to do with the antichrists\u2019 point of departure\u2014<i>They went out from us<\/i>\u2014than any geographical or institutional location.<\/p>\n<p>To sense the obligation <i>to walk just as Jesus walked<\/i> while being imperfect in God\u2019s love is a state of dynamic tension.\u00a0 Though I didn\u2019t realize it at the time, seeking to obey the law or Paul\u2019s definition of love in my own strength was a way to ease that tension.\u00a0 After all, no one, not even Jesus, could expect me to be as perfect as He is in my own strength.\u00a0 I was completely aware that I was easing that tension when I deliberately abandoned my obligation <i>to walk just as Jesus walked<\/i> because \u201cit didn\u2019t matter what I did, because I was forgiven and because I was not under law but under grace\u201d (as some of my new friends interpreted and preached the Apostle Paul).<\/p>\n<p>Still, He always brought me back from the latter excursions:\u00a0 <i>Now as for you, <\/i>John wrote, <i>the anointing that you received from him resides <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/men.html#menei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9<\/a>, another form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/men.html#menw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>) <i>in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you.\u00a0 But as <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2024\/09\/01\/christ-centered-preaching-chapter-5\/#sdfootnote20sym\">his<\/a> anointing teaches you about all things, it is true and is not a lie.\u00a0 Just as it has taught you, <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2024\/09\/01\/christ-centered-preaching-chapter-5\/#sdfootnote21sym\">you reside<\/a> <\/i>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/men.html#menete\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/a>, another form of <a rel=\"noopener\">\u1f00\u03b3\u03ac\u03c0\u03b7<\/a>.\u00a0 I was certainly hearing some of the things I\u2019ve written about here.\u00a0 I did attempt from time to time to trust Him with MY righteousness.\u00a0 It wasn\u2019t that I was better somehow at it than He was.\u00a0 It was that I demanded 100% compliance from Him (<em>e.g.<\/em>, from me when He was in charge) but I was much more lenient with myself when I took control.<\/p>\n<p><i>Dear friends<\/i>, John continued, <i>do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.\u00a0 By this <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2018\/11\/20\/peters-first-gospel-proclamation-revisited-part-1\/#_ftn36\">you know<\/a> the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not confess <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2018\/11\/20\/peters-first-gospel-proclamation-revisited-part-1\/#_ftn37\">Jesus<\/a> is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world<\/i> [<a own ways, striving in my own strength to keep his commandments?<\/p>\n<p>Again John wrote of <i>antichrist<\/i>: <i>But now I ask you, lady (not as if <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2019\/11\/04\/to-make-holy-part-7\/#_ftn2\">I were writing<\/a> a new commandment to you, but the one we have had from the beginning), that we love one another <\/i>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2019\/11\/04\/to-make-holy-part-7\/#_Table5\">Table<\/a>].\u00a0 <i>(Now this is love: that we walk according to his commandments.)\u00a0 This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning; thus you should walk in it.\u00a0 For many deceivers <a
