<em>religious mind<\/em> wrote, <em>For even though I am absent<\/em><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote2sym\" name=\"sdfootnote2anc\"><sup>2<\/sup><\/a> <em>physically, I am present in spirit. \u00a0And I have already judged <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/ke.html#kekrika\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u1f73\u03ba\u03c1\u03b9\u03ba\u03b1<\/a>, another form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kr.html#krinw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>) <em>the one who did this, just as though I were present<\/em>.<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote3sym\" name=\"sdfootnote3anc\"><sup>3<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 Paul was speaking about a man rumored to <em>have<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/ec.html#ecein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f14\u03c7\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/ec.html#ecw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f14\u03c7\u03c9<\/a>) his father\u2019s wife.\u00a0 (The NET translated the word\u00a0\u1f14\u03c7\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd <em>cohabiting with<\/em>,<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote4sym\" name=\"sdfootnote4anc\"><sup>4<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0rendering <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/por.html#porneia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c0\u03bf\u03c1\u03bd\u03b5\u03af\u03b1<\/a> in this <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/22\/what-is-sexual-immorality\/\">passage<\/a> as <em>adultery<\/em>, <em>incest<\/em> or a violation of Leviticus 20:11<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote5sym\" name=\"sdfootnote5anc\"><sup>5<\/sup><\/a> rather than <em>idolatrous worship <\/em>[including its <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2014\/02\/08\/my-reasons-and-my-reason-part-2\/\">drunken sexual practices<\/a>].)<\/p>\n<p>My reasons for calling this Paul\u2019s <em>religious mind<\/em> are as follows: 1) the fact that Paul gave evidence of knowing Jesus\u2019 command (1 Corinthians 4:5 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So then, do not judge <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kr.html#krinete\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kr.html#krinw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>)<\/em> anything before the time.\u00a0 Wait until the Lord comes.\u00a0 He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts.\u00a0 Then each will receive recognition from God.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>2) his own rhetorical justification sounds spurious (1 Corinthians 5:12, 13 NET) when contrasted to Jesus\u2019 teaching.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For what do I<em><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote6sym\" name=\"sdfootnote6anc\"><sup>6<\/sup><\/a> <\/em>have to do with judging <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kr.html#krinein\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9\u03bd<\/a>, another form of \u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9)<\/em> those outside?\u00a0 Are you not to judge <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kr.html#krinete\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/a>, a form of \u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9)<\/em> those inside? \u00a0But God will judge <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/kr.html#krinei\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03ba\u03c1\u03b9\u03bd\u03b5\u1fd6<\/a>, another form of \u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9)<\/em> those outside.\u00a0 <em>Remove<a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote7sym\" name=\"sdfootnote7anc\"><sup>7<\/sup><\/a> the evil person from among you<\/em>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Here is Jesus\u2019 teaching on the subject (Luke 6:37, 38 NET [<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/18\/immorality\/#_Table9\">Table<\/a>]):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Do not judge <em>(<a not for those who believed.\u00a0 The presumed answer to Paul\u2019s rhetorical question\u2014<em>Are you not to judge those inside?<\/em>\u2014is not sufficient to alter my belief.<\/p>\n<p>3) Paul later forgave the sinner and urged the Corinthians to do likewise after they had shunned him (2 Corinthians 2:5-8 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>But if anyone has caused sadness, he has not saddened me alone, but<em><a class=\"sdfootnoteanc\" href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/12\/pauls-religious-mind\/#sdfootnote13sym\" name=\"sdfootnote13anc\"><sup>13<\/sup><\/a> <\/em>to some extent (not to exaggerate) he has saddened all of you as well. \u00a0This punishment on such an individual by the majority is enough for him, so that now instead you should rather forgive <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/ca.html#carisasqai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c7\u03b1\u03c1\u1f77\u03c3\u03b1\u03c3\u03b8\u03b1\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/ca.html#carizomai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c7\u03b1\u03c1\u03af\u03b6\u03bf\u03bc\u03b1\u03b9<\/a>) <\/em>and comfort <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/parak.html#parakalesai\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03b1\u03ba\u03b1\u03bb\u03ad\u03c9<\/a>) <\/em>him.\u00a0 This will keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive grief to the point of despair. \u00a0Therefore I urge <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/parak.html#parakalw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03b1\u03ba\u03b1\u03bb\u1ff6<\/a>, another form of \u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03b1\u03ba\u03b1\u03bb\u03ad\u03c9)<\/em> you to reaffirm your love <em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/agap.html#agaphn\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/greekdoc.github.io\/lexicon\/uph.html#uphkooi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u1f51\u03c0\u1f75\u03ba\u03bf\u03bf\u03b9<\/a>, a form of <a
