{"id":6701,"date":"2016-04-26T02:43:30","date_gmt":"2016-04-25T20:43:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/?p=6701"},"modified":"2026-03-10T14:39:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T19:39:16","slug":"condemnation-or-judgment-part-13","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/religiousmind.net\/?p=6701","title":{"rendered":"Condemnation or Judgment? &#8211; Part 13"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This is the conclusion of my consideration of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johnwesleyreid.com\/single-post\/2016\/02\/20\/To-The-Woman-In-Church-Whos-Addicted-To-Porn\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pastor\u2019s advice<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em><strong>Accountability<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\n<em> Find a group of strong Christ-followers who you can be transparent with and who will hold you accountable. Arrogance peaks when we consider our strength to be above the accountability of others.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Walk in grace, walk in obedience.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Seek healing, seek accountability.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Apart from the ordinary peer pressure to conform to the norms of any group, <em>accountability<\/em>, as a conscious concept, was not part of my religious upbringing.\u00a0 Yes, I had parents and teachers but my introduction to <em>accountability<\/em> as any kind of formal religious structure came through my association with \u201ccharismania.\u201d\u00a0 That wasn\u2019t a common term in my church.\u00a0 I heard it from a friend who married into the church.\u00a0 But when her husband was diagnosed with a degenerative eye disease she encouraged him to attend a charismatic healing service.\u00a0 (No, he wasn\u2019t healed.)<\/p>\n<p>My primary association with charismatic believers was through a roommate.\u00a0 The first time we roomed together he was a charismatic alcoholic.\u00a0 The second time he was a sober charismatic computer student who became a civilian programmer for the military.\u00a0 His Christian works by any objective measure were sub-par (not that mine weren\u2019t) and I always considered mine superior to his.\u00a0 Faith was another matter entirely.\u00a0 His faith in Jesus\u2019 love and personal concern for him was ludicrously insane\u2014and he was never disappointed.\u00a0 He taught me to trust Jesus by his example. \u00a0Perhaps I should say that the Holy Spirit taught me to trust Jesus through my roommate\u2019s example, but my scale is linear and incremental while his was logarithmic.\u00a0 I hate to blame that on the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>If asked to characterize my religious upbringing vis-\u00e0-vis the Holy Spirit, I would say we didn\u2019t believe in Him.\u00a0 But that\u2019s nonsense.\u00a0 We sang the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hymnary.org\/text\/glory_be_to_the_father_and_to_the_son\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gloria Patri<\/a> every Sunday morning, and recited the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.crcna.org\/welcome\/beliefs\/creeds\/apostles-creed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Apostle\u2019s Creed<\/a> often enough.\u00a0 (Of course, it was made very clear that <em>catholic<\/em> did not mean <em>Catholic<\/em> but <em>universal<\/em>.)\u00a0 So I suppose we believed in the things the Apostle\u2019s Creed said, and that the Holy Spirit came to believers on Pentecost, and worked miracles through the apostles, and made sure that the New Testament was accurate and authoritative, and after that\u2014I draw a blank.<\/p>\n<p>When I began to study the Bible I was surprised how often<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a> the Holy Spirit was mentioned. \u00a0\u00a0And that\u2019s not quite true either.\u00a0 I thought my task was to distinguish the Holy Spirit from <em>spirit<\/em>, a hyper-emotional state bordering on the delusional.\u00a0 But over time that \u201chyper-emotional state bordering on the delusional\u201d receded and was replaced by <em>Holy Spirit<\/em> or <em>evil spirits<\/em> as real beings.\u00a0 My pastor was very big on Jesus\u2019 work being finished at the cross\u2014He \u201cis seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty\u201d\u2014and I added I suppose, that the rest was up to me.<\/p>\n<p>The words of J. Hampton Keathley, III on <em><a href=\"https:\/\/bible.org\/seriespage\/mark-16-accountability\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">accountability<\/a><\/em> ring true to me.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 (And his essay is probably more helpful than my floundering.)\u00a0 He recalled the \u201craspy voice\u201d of his sergeant at the U.S. Army Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe are here to save your lives. We\u2019re going to see to it that you overcome all your natural fears. We\u2019re going to show you just how much incredible stress the human mind and body can endure. And when we\u2019re finished with you, you will be the U.S. Army\u2019s best!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Then, before he dismissed the formation, he announced our first assignment. We\u2019d steeled ourselves for something really tough\u2014like running 10 miles in full battle gear or rappelling down a sheer cliff. Instead, he told us to\u2014find a buddy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cFind yourself a Ranger buddy,\u201d he growled. \u201cYou will stick together. You will never leave each other. You will encourage each other, and, as necessary, you will carry each other.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>So <em>accountability<\/em> at one extreme means a really good friend like a <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Proverbs+18:24\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">brother<\/a> but at the other extreme a formal inquest or inquisition. \u00a0I tend to shy away from the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/10\/06\/romans-part-22\/#_police\">police<\/a> functions of <em>accountability<\/em>. \u00a0<em>But I tell you the truth<\/em>, Jesus said, <em>it is to your advantage that I am going away. \u00a0For if I do not go away, the Advocate <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u03ac\u03ba\u03bb\u03b7\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2\">\u03c0\u03b1\u03c1\u1f71\u03ba\u03bb\u03b7\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2<\/a>) <em>will not come to you, but if I go, I will send him to you. \u00a0And when he comes, he will prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment<\/em>\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The religious mind treats the fruit of the Spirit as little more than a measure of its own achievement, and certainly does not consider the <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/John+14:25\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Holy Spirit<\/a> competent to <em>prove the world wrong concerning sin and righteousness and judgment<\/em> without its aid.\u00a0 Instead of offering Him a living, breathing example of the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/nkjv\/hebrews\/12-11.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">peaceable fruit of righteousness<\/a><\/em> we\u2014when we are controlled by the religious mind\u2014become snarky busybodies or self-righteous inquisitors, not unlike <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Acts+8:1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Saul<\/a> before <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Acts+9:4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jesus<\/a> saved him.<\/p>\n<p>Before considering the biblical concept of <em>accountability <\/em>I want to acknowledge that I have called this teaching<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a> of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.johnwesleyreid.com\/about\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mr. Reid\u2019s<\/a> pastor <em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/03\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-12\/\">confusing directions<\/a><\/em>.\u00a0 That doesn\u2019t mean I know some secret shortcut from unbelief to faith; well, trust Jesus, but that\u2019s no secret.\u00a0 Would I even know how to rely on the fruit of the Spirit for righteousness if I hadn\u2019t tried and failed to do righteousness on my own?\u00a0 That\u2019s an unanswerable question because I did try on my own. \u00a0\u00a0Viewed from this perspective, the pastor\u2019s advice may have been a teaching technique.\u00a0 After all, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/hebrew-dictionary\/#_yeh\u00f4v\u00e2h\">y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<\/a><\/em> did not sit Cain down and <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Genesis+4:6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">explain<\/a> the Gospel to him.\u00a0 He allowed Cain to <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Genesis+4:8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fail<\/a> to subdue sin on his own at the cost of Abel\u2019s life.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"_waylaid\"><\/a>I tried first to keep the ten commandments, the commands of Jesus and Paul and the traditions of my church.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/08\/14\/davids-forgiveness-part-6\/#_demons\">When I heard<\/a> that love fulfills the law, I tried to keep Paul\u2019s definition of love as my new law.\u00a0 And when I began to suspect that I was going about it <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/07\/02\/jedidiah-part-2\/#_wrong\">all wrong<\/a> I diligently read the Old Testament to confirm or deny my growing understanding of the New. \u00a0Put in a different way, as I began to learn the things I\u2019ve presented in these essays my questions took the form of, \u201cWell, if that is true where has it been hiding for thousands of years!?\u201d\u00a0 And then I began to try to keep <em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h\u2019s<\/em> law in my own strength.<\/p>\n<p>I call the latter an occupational hazard of reading the Old Testament with a willing heart.\u00a0 When I do word studies I\u2019m very aware of the context.\u00a0 Context is all I have to understand the meaning of the words.\u00a0 But simply reading the Old Testament is much more <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vocabulary.com\/dictionary\/existential\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">existential<\/a>, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.m.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gestalt_therapy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">moment<\/a>.\u00a0 If <em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<\/em> said <em>do this<\/em> or <em>don\u2019t do that<\/em>, I said <em>okay<\/em>, and woke up somewhere in the story of David to the fact that I was striving again to keep the law in my own strength, without <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/#q=malice+aforethought\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">malice<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/#q=malice+aforethought\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">forethought<\/a>. \u00a0Still, I never tried to keep any part of <em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h\u2019s<\/em> law that included animal sacrifice.\u00a0 I actually believed that Jesus\u2019 crucifixion superseded all that.<\/p>\n<p>I was intrigued when I stayed the night as a guest of a lovely Christian family.\u00a0 The children were very excited because they had just celebrated Passover.\u00a0 I quietly looked (and sniffed) around their beautiful California home.\u00a0 I detected no evidence that a farm animal had dwelt there for <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Exodus+12:6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">four days<\/a>.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t find any telltale sign that it had been slaughtered and butchered there.\u00a0 And certainly none of its <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Exodus+12:7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blood<\/a> had been smeared on the doorframe.\u00a0 Perhaps they ate a <em>meal dressed to travel, <\/em>[their]<em> sandals on <\/em>[their]<em> feet, and <\/em>[their]<em> staff in <\/em>[their] <em>hand<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a> \u00a0But I assumed that most of their celebration was either made up or based on the traditions of those who reject Jesus.\u00a0 And it never occurred to me to \u201chold them accountable\u201d to my assumption.<\/p>\n<p><em>Therefore, each of us will give an account<\/em> (\u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03bf\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2\">\u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2<\/a>) <em>of himself <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/09\/26\/romans-part-18\/#sdfootnote25sym\">to God<\/a><\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn6\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 This is the New Testament concept of <em>accountability<\/em>.\u00a0 The writer of the letter to the Hebrews wrote (Hebrews 4:12, 13 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart. \u00a0And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must render an account.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In English this sounds like that same moment <em>each of us will give an account of himself<\/em>: <em>For it is written<\/em>, \u201c<strong><em>As I live<\/em><\/strong><em>, <strong>says the Lord<\/strong>, <strong>every knee will bow to me<\/strong>, <strong>and every tongue will give praise to God<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn7\"><sup>[7]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 The Greek word translated <em>exposed<\/em> in Hebrews 4:13 is \u03c4\u03b5\u03c4\u03c1\u03b1\u03c7\u03b7\u03bb\u03b9\u03c3\u03bc\u1f73\u03bd\u03b1 (a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03c4\u03c1\u03b1\u03c7\u03b7\u03bb\u03af\u03b6\u03c9\">\u03c4\u03c1\u03b1\u03c7\u03b7\u03bb\u03af\u03b6\u03c9<\/a>), to pull back the head to expose the neck to a blade.\u00a0 It would be a fearful moment indeed, naked on our knees, neck exposed to the killing cut, our fate determined by our words: <em>For by your words<\/em> (\u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03c9\u03bd, another form of \u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2) <em>you will be justified<\/em>, Jesus said, <em>and by your words<\/em> (\u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03c9\u03bd, another form of \u03bb\u03cc\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2) <em>you will be condemned<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn8\"><sup>[8]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But I can\u2019t forget John (1 John 4:15-19 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God resides in him and he in God.\u00a0 And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has in us. \u00a0God is love, and the one who resides in love resides in God, and God <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2013\/04\/22\/antichrist-part-2\/#sdfootnote6sym\">resides<\/a> in him <em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/08\/04\/romans-part-7\/#_Table3\">Table<\/a>]<\/em>.\u00a0 By this love is perfected with us, so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because just as Jesus is, so also are we in this world.\u00a0 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. \u00a0The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love.\u00a0 We love because he loved us first.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>That <em>everything is naked and exposed to the eyes<\/em> of God is a beautiful, graphic description of his omniscience, but it says nothing about his attitude.\u00a0 We get more of that from John.\u00a0 There is another image of \u03c4\u03b5\u03c4\u03c1\u03b1\u03c7\u03b7\u03bb\u03b9\u03c3\u03bc\u1f73\u03bd\u03b1 in the movie <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/11\/16\/twilight-of-the-idols\/\">Twilight<\/a>.\u00a0 When Bella (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kristen_Stewart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kristen Stewart<\/a>) realizes that her beloved Edward (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_Pattinson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robert Pattinson<\/a>) is a vampire she has a romantic fantasy of being his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=b4sR0v4d7pA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">victim<\/a>, her neck exposed to his bite.\u00a0 Later in the film, dancing at her prom with him, Bella tries to make her romantic fantasy real, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=mfPTcojUiFY\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">exposing her neck<\/a> to Edward, hoping to be made like him.<\/p>\n<p>In Greek Romans 14:12 is: \u1f04\u03c1\u03b1 [\u03bf\u1f56\u03bd] \u1f15\u03ba\u03b1\u03c3\u03c4\u03bf\u03c2 \u1f21\u03bc\u1ff6\u03bd \u03c0\u03b5\u03c1\u1f76 \u1f11\u03b1\u03c5\u03c4\u03bf\u1fe6 \u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03bf\u03bd \u03b4\u1f7d\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9.\u00a0 The phrase translated <em>give an account<\/em> is \u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03bf\u03bd \u03b4\u1f7d\u03c3\u03b5\u03b9.\u00a0 Hebrews 4:12 and 13 in Greek account<\/em>.\u00a0 In Greek it leaps off the page that <em>the word of God<\/em> (\u1f41 \u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2 \u03c4\u03bf\u1fe6 \u03b8\u03b5\u03bf\u1fe6) and our word (\u1f21\u03bc\u1fd6\u03bd \u1f41 \u03bb\u1f79\u03b3\u03bf\u03c2) were meant to be the same.\u00a0 That is lost somewhat in translation, though the passage might have been translated:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For the <em>[account]<\/em> of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.\u00a0 And no creature is hidden from God, but everything is naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we account.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I think the passage in Hebrews here refers more to our daily account, coming <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/John+3:21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">into the light<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/1+John+1:7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">walking<\/a> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Ephesians+5:7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">light<\/a>, than to that final account at the <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/2+Corinthians+5:10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">judgment seat of Christ<\/a>.\u00a0 (The daily practice of our <em>account <\/em>to Him, however, probably has everything to do with making the anticipation of that final accounting comfortable.)\u00a0 I\u2019ll return to the <em>peaceable fruit of righteousness<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The writer of the letter to the Hebrews wrote, <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03b5\u1f30\u03c2\">\u03b5\u1f30\u03c2<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03c0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03b5\u03af\u03b1\">\u03c0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1\u03bd<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u1f51\u03c0\u03bf\u03bc\u03ad\u03bd\u03c9\">\u1f51\u03c0\u03bf\u03bc\u1f73\u03bd\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn9\"><sup>[9]<\/sup><\/a> (literally, \u201cunto training endure\u201d) to people to whom <em>it is difficult to explain, since you have become sluggish in hearing. \u00a0For though you should in fact be teachers by this time, you need<\/em> (\u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u03af\u03b1\">\u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1<\/a>) <em>someone to teach you the beginning elements of God\u2019s utterances.\u00a0 You have gone back to needing<\/em> (\u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1\u03bd, a form of \u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1) <em>milk, not solid food. \u00a0For everyone who lives on milk is inexperienced in the message of righteousness, because he is an infant. \u00a0But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained<\/em> (\u03b3\u03b5\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03b1\u03c3\u03bc\u1f73\u03bd\u03b1, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9\">\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9<\/a>) <em>by practice<\/em> (\u1f15\u03be\u03b9\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f15\u03be\u03b9\u03c2\">\u1f15\u03be\u03b9\u03c2<\/a>) <em>to discern both good and evil<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn10\"><sup>[10]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>For you need<\/em> (\u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1\u03bd, a form of \u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1) <em>endurance <\/em>(\u1f51\u03c0\u03bf\u03bc\u03bf\u03bd\u1fc6\u03c2, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f51\u03c0\u03bf\u03bc\u03bf\u03bd\u03ae\">\u1f51\u03c0\u03bf\u03bc\u03bf\u03bd\u03ae<\/a>), the writer of Hebrews had written previously, <em>in order to do God\u2019s will and so receive what is promised<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn11\"><sup>[11]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 <em>But the fruit of the Spirit<\/em>, Paul wrote believers in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galatia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Galatia<\/a>, <em>is love, joy, peace, patience<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03bc\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u03bf\u03b8\u03c5\u03bc\u03af\u03b1\">\u03bc\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u03bf\u03b8\u03c5\u03bc\u1f77\u03b1<\/a>), <em>kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn12\"><sup>[12]<\/sup><\/a> \u00a0Consider by way of contrast that John wrote his readers, <em>the anointing that you received from him resides in you, and you have no need<\/em> (\u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1\u03bd, a form of \u03c7\u03c1\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1) <em>for anyone to teach you.\u00a0 But as his anointing teaches you about all things, it is true and is not a lie.\u00a0 Just as it has taught you, you reside in him<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn13\"><sup>[13]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 This <em>anointing <\/em>is the baptism in the Holy Spirit that <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Acts+1:5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jesus promised<\/a>.\u00a0 The Holy Spirit is the best Ranger buddy anyone could find.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"_naked\"><\/a><em>Now all discipline<\/em> (<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03c0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03b5\u03af\u03b1\">\u03c0\u03b1\u03b9\u03b4\u03b5\u1f77\u03b1<\/a>) <em>seems painful at the time, not joyful. \u00a0But later it produces the fruit of peace and righteousness for those trained<\/em> (\u03b3\u03b5\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03b1\u03c3\u03bc\u1f73\u03bd\u03bf\u03b9\u03c2, another form of \u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9) <em>by it<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/04\/26\/condemnation-or-judgment-part-13\/#_ftn14\"><sup>[14]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 The Greek word \u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9 means \u201cto exercise naked.\u201d\u00a0 The writer of Hebrews used it very effectively to refer back to our daily account to God from whom <em>no creature is hidden<\/em>\u2026<em>but everything is naked <\/em>(\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u1f70, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03cc\u03c2\">\u03b3\u03c5\u03bc\u03bd\u03cc\u03c2<\/a>)<em> and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we<\/em>\u2026<em>account<\/em>. \u00a0Those who are led by the Spirit expose themselves daily to God that they may be made like Him.\u00a0 And I predict that the more time we spend willingly, mindfully naked and exposed to the Holy Spirit the more inclined we will be to clothe the <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Matthew+25:36\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">naked<\/a> when we gather together again, and to love one another with the love that <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/1+Peter+4:8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">covers<\/a> a multitude of sins.<\/p>\n<p><em>So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court<\/em>, Paul wrote believers in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ancient_Corinth#Biblical_Corinth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Corinth<\/a>. \u00a0<em>In fact, I do not even judge myself. \u00a0For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this. \u00a0The one who judges me is the Lord. \u00a0So then, do not judge anything before the time. \u00a0Wait until the Lord comes. \u00a0He will bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the motives of hearts. \u00a0Then each will receive recognition from God<\/em>.<a
