href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Ephesians+4:22\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">old man<\/a><\/em>) should come with this warning label, but love says:\u00a0<em>Now receive the one who is weak in the faith, and do not have disputes over differing opinions<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn1\"><sup>[1]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0Paul continued his discussion of love with a then current example (Romans 14:2, 3a NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>One person believes in eating everything, but the weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u1ff6\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9\">\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9<\/a>)<\/em> person eats only vegetables. \u00a0The one who eats everything must not despise <em>(\u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03b5\u1f77\u03c4\u03c9, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9\">\u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9<\/a>)<\/em> the one who does not\u2026<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Luke introduced Jesus\u2019 parable contrasting <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/04\/22\/religious-and-righteous-prayer\/\">religious and righteous prayer<\/a> this way: <em>Jesus <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/04\/22\/religious-and-righteous-prayer\/#sdfootnote4sym\">also<\/a> told this parable to some who were confident that they were righteous and looked down on everyone else<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 The Greek word translated <em>looked down<\/em> is \u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03bf\u1fe6\u03bd\u03c4\u03b1\u03c2 (another form of \u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9) like \u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03b5\u1f77\u03c4\u03c9, translated <em>despise <\/em>in Romans 14:3.\u00a0 <em>Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, replied, \u201cRulers of the people and elders<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a>\u2026.<em>This Jesus is<\/em> <strong><em>the stone that was rejected <\/em><\/strong>(\u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03b7\u03b8\u03b5\u1f76\u03c2, another form of \u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9) <strong><em>by<\/em><\/strong> <em>you,<\/em> <strong><em>the builders, that has become the cornerstone<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn4\"><sup>[4]<\/sup><\/a> \u00a0Paul wrote believers in Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:26-31 NET <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/31\/jephthah\/#_Table2\">Table<\/a>):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Think about the circumstances of your call, brothers and sisters. \u00a0Not many were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were born to a privileged position. \u00a0But God chose what the world thinks foolish to shame the wise, and God chose what the world thinks weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u1fc6, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ae\u03c2\">\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ae\u03c2<\/a>)<\/em> to shame the strong. \u00a0God chose what is low and despised <em>(\u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03b7\u03bc\u1f73\u03bd\u03b1, another form of \u1f10\u03be\u03bf\u03c5\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9)<\/em> in the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/31\/jephthah\/#sdfootnote11sym\">world<\/a>, what is regarded as nothing, to set aside what is regarded as something, so that no one can boast in <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/31\/jephthah\/#sdfootnote12sym\">his<\/a> presence. \u00a0He is the reason you have a relationship with Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, \u201c<strong><em>Let the one who boasts<\/em><\/strong><em>, <strong>boast in the Lord<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Love doesn\u2019t despise the faith-weak the way the world despises all believers.\u00a0 And love doesn\u2019t judge those who do not adhere to the rules the faith-weak live by.\u00a0 Paul continued (Romans 14:3b NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u2026and the one who abstains must not judge <em>(\u03ba\u03c1\u03b9\u03bd\u1f73\u03c4\u03c9, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9\">\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>)<\/em> the one who eats everything, for God has <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/10\/romans-part-79\/\">accepted<\/a> <em>(\u03c0\u03c1\u03bf\u03c3\u03b5\u03bb\u1f71\u03b2\u03b5\u03c4\u03bf, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03c0\u03c1\u03bf\u03c3\u03bb\u03b1\u03bc\u03b2\u03ac\u03bd\u03c9\">\u03c0\u03c1\u03bf\u03c3\u03bb\u03b1\u03bc\u03b2\u03ac\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>)<\/em> him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><em>Therefore do not let anyone judge <\/em>(\u03ba\u03c1\u03b9\u03bd\u1f73\u03c4\u03c9, a form of \u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9) <em>you with respect to food or drink<\/em>, Paul wrote believers in Colossae, <em>or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days \u2013 these are only the shadow of the things to come, but the reality is Christ!<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn5\"><sup>[5]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 Yet of love Paul wrote (1 Corinthians 8):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>With regard to food sacrificed to idols, we know that \u201cwe all have knowledge.\u201d\u00a0 Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up. \u00a0If someone thinks he knows something, he does not yet know to the degree that he needs to know. \u00a0But if someone loves God, he is known by God.<\/p>\n<p>With regard then to eating food sacrificed to idols, we know that \u201can idol in this world is nothing,\u201d and that \u201cthere is no God but one.\u201d \u00a0If after all there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we live, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we live.<\/p>\n<p>But this knowledge is not shared by all.\u00a0 And some, by being accustomed to idols in former times, eat this food as an idol sacrifice, and their conscience, because it is weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u1f74\u03c2, another form of \u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ae\u03c2)<\/em>, is defiled. \u00a0Now food will not bring us close to God.\u00a0 We are no worse if we do not eat and no better if we do. \u00a0But be careful that this liberty of yours does not become a hindrance to the weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u1f73\u03c3\u03b9\u03bd, another form of \u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ae\u03c2)<\/em>. \u00a0For if someone weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03bf\u1fe6\u03c2, another form of \u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ae\u03c2)<\/em> sees you who possess knowledge dining in an idol\u2019s temple, will not his conscience be \u201cstrengthened\u201d to eat food offered to idols? \u00a0So by your knowledge the weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u1ff6\u03bd, a form of \u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9)<\/em> brother or sister, for whom Christ died, is destroyed. \u00a0If you sin against your brothers or sisters in this way and wound their weak <em>(\u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03bf\u1fe6\u03c3\u03b1\u03bd, another form of \u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9)<\/em> conscience, you sin against Christ. \u00a0For this reason, if food causes my brother or sister to sin, I will never eat meat again, so that I may not cause one of them to sin.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul continued for believers in Rome (Romans 14:4a NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Who are you to pass judgment <em>(\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03c9\u03bd, another form of \u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9)<\/em> on another\u2019s servant?\u00a0 Before his own master he stands or falls.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Jesus said, <em>there is One who seeks and judges<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn6\"><sup>[6]<\/sup><\/a> (\u1f14\u03c3\u03c4\u03b9\u03bd \u1f41 \u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u1ff6\u03bd \u03ba\u03b1\u1f76 \u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03c9\u03bd).\u00a0 I quoted the NAS because the NET translation reads, <em>There is one who demands it, and he also judges<\/em>.\u00a0 This leaves me with the impression that Jesus told the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f38\u03bf\u03c5\u03b4\u03b1\u1fd6\u03bf\u03c2\">\u1f38\u03bf\u03c5\u03b4\u03b1\u1fd6\u03bf\u03b9<\/a> (<em><a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/John+8:48\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Judeans<\/a><\/em>, NET; <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.biblestudytools.com\/nas\/john\/passage\/?q=john+8:48-49\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jews<\/a><\/em>, NAS) that his Father demanded <a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/greek\/doxan_1391.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">glory<\/a> for Jesus from them and would judge them for failing to deliver it.\u00a0 The latter is simply false, <em>the Father does not judge<\/em> (\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9, another form of \u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9) <em>anyone, but has assigned all judgment<\/em> (\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03c3\u03b9\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03c3\u03b9\u03c2\">\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03c3\u03b9\u03c2<\/a>) <em>to the Son<\/em>\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn7\"><sup>[7]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 What the Father seeks (\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u1ff6\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c9\">\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c9<\/a>) was <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2014\/12\/22\/my-reasons-and-my-reason-part-6\/#_truthfulness\">specified<\/a> earlier in John\u2019s Gospel: <em>But a time is coming \u2013 and now is here \u2013 when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks<\/em> (\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03b5\u1fd6, another form of \u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c9) <em>such people to be his worshipers<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn8\"><sup>[8]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I think Jesus meant what He said: <em>I am not trying to get<\/em> (\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u1ff6, another form of \u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c9) <em>praise <\/em>(\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03bd, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u03b4\u03cc\u03be\u03b1\">\u03b4\u03cc\u03be\u03b1<\/a>) <em>for myself<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn9\"><sup>[9]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 <em>The person who speaks on his own authority desires<\/em> (\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03b5\u1fd6, a form of \u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c9) <em>to receive honor<\/em> (\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03bd, a form of \u03b4\u03cc\u03be\u03b1) <em>for himself; the one who desires<\/em> (\u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u1ff6\u03bd, a form of \u03b6\u03b7\u03c4\u03ad\u03c9) <em>the honor<\/em> (\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03bd, a form of \u03b4\u03cc\u03be\u03b1) <em>of the one who sent him is a man of integrity <\/em>(<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u1f00\u03bb\u03b7\u03b8\u03ae\u03c2\">\u1f00\u03bb\u03b7\u03b8\u1f75\u03c2<\/a>)<em>, and there is no unrighteousness in him<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn10\"><sup>[10]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 Clearly, the translators of the NET thought of \u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03bd as <em>honor<\/em>, also translated <em><a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/John+8:50\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">praise<\/a><\/em>, something originating with people.\u00a0 The Father <em>has assigned all judgment to the Son, so that all people will honor <\/em>(\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u1ff6\u03c3\u03b9, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9\">\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9<\/a>) <em>the Son just as they honor<\/em> (\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u1ff6\u03c3\u03b9, a form of \u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9) <em>the Father.<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn11\"><sup>[11]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In that light then since the Father seeks <em>true worshipers <\/em>who<em> worship<\/em>\u2026<em>in spirit and truth<\/em>, then He might also seek honor from those worshippers for his Son.\u00a0 <em>The one who does not honor<\/em> (\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u1ff6\u03bd, another form of \u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9) <em>the Son does not honor <\/em>(\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u1fb7, another form of \u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9) <em>the Father who sent him<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn12\"><sup>[12]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 And granted, Jesus prefaced his remarks with, <em>I honor<\/em> (\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u1ff6, another form of \u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9) <em>my Father \u2013 and yet you dishonor<\/em> (\u1f00\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u1f71\u03b6\u03b5\u03c4\u03b5, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u1f00\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9\">\u1f00\u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9<\/a>) <em>me<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn13\"><sup>[13]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 But I\u2019m still not convinced that made \u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03bd a synonym for \u03c4\u03b9\u03bc\u03ac\u03c9.<\/p>\n<p>I think Jesus meant <a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/greek\/doxan_1391.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">glory<\/a> <em>from<\/em> or <em>of<\/em> God, his Father.\u00a0 <em>\u201cIf I glorify<\/em> (\u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u1f71\u03c3\u03c9, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-concordance\/#_\u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9\">\u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9<\/a>) <em>myself, my glory<\/em> (\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1) <em>is worthless. \u00a0The one who glorifies <\/em>(\u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u1f71\u03b6\u03c9\u03bd, another form of \u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9) <em>me is my Father, about whom you people say, \u2018He is our God.\u2019\u201d<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn14\"><sup>[14]<\/sup><\/a> <em>\u00a0I glorified<\/em> (\u1f10\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03c3\u03b1, another form of \u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9) <em>you on earth<\/em>, Jesus prayed to his Father, <em>by completing the work you gave me to do<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn15\"><sup>[15]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 And I think Jesus was focused on that work, both to seek the Father\u2019s true worshiper\u2019s\u2014<em>For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn16\"><sup>[16]<\/sup><\/a>\u2014and to do it in a way that satisfied the Father\u2019s judgment (of Him as opposed to others).\u00a0 I think Jesus expressed a relationship to his Father very similar to the relationship Paul expressed to Jesus (1 Corinthians 4:3, 4 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged <em>(\u1f00\u03bd\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u03b9\u03b8\u1ff6, a form of <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/greek-dictionary-2\/#_\u1f00\u03bd\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9\">\u1f00\u03bd\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u03af\u03bd\u03c9<\/a>)<\/em> by you or by any human court. \u00a0In fact, I do not even judge <em>(\u1f00\u03bd\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03c9)<\/em> myself. \u00a0For I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not acquitted because of this.\u00a0 The one who judges <em>(\u1f00\u03bd\u03b1\u03ba\u03c1\u1f77\u03bd\u03c9\u03bd)<\/em> me is the Lord.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And that relationship answers why He was so <a href=\"https:\/\/net.bible.org\/#!bible\/Matthew+8:10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">impressed<\/a> with the faith of the centurion: <em>\u201cjust say the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/06\/28\/saul-and-barnabas-part-2\/#sdfootnote14sym\">word<\/a> and my servant will be healed. \u00a0For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me.\u00a0 I say to this one, \u2018Go\u2019 and he goes, and to another \u2018Come\u2019 and he comes, and to my slave \u2018Do this\u2019 and he does it.\u201d<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn17\"><sup>[17]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 The servant and the slave honored the centurion but Caesar another form of \u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9) <em>your Son, so that your Son may glorify <\/em>(\u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u1f71\u03c3\u1fc3, another form of \u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9) <em>you<\/em>\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn18\"><sup>[18]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 <em>Now, Father, glorify<\/em> (\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u03b1\u03c3\u03bf\u03bd, another form of \u03b4\u03bf\u03be\u03ac\u03b6\u03c9) <em>Me together with Yourself, with the glory <\/em>(\u03b4\u1f79\u03be\u1fc3, another form of \u03b4\u03cc\u03be\u03b1) <em>which I had with You before the world was.\u201d<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn19\"><sup>[19]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 Then He took that glory and nailed it naked, bruised and bleeding to a cross; Jesus said (John 10:17, 18; Matthew 26:53, 54 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>This is why the Father loves me \u2013 because I lay down my life, so that I may take it back again. \u00a0No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down of my own free will.\u00a0 I have the authority to lay it down, and I have the authority to take it back again. \u00a0This commandment I received from my Father.<\/p>\n<p>Or do you think that I cannot call on my Father, and that he would send me <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/15\/forgiveness-and-denial-of-christ\/#sdfootnote9sym\">more than<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/15\/forgiveness-and-denial-of-christ\/#sdfootnote10sym\">twelve<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/15\/forgiveness-and-denial-of-christ\/#sdfootnote11sym\">legions<\/a> of angels right now? <em>[<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/15\/forgiveness-and-denial-of-christ\/#_Table5\">Table<\/a>]<\/em> \u00a0How then would the scriptures that say it must happen this way be fulfilled?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The prophet Isaiah described it this way (Isaiah 53 NET):<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Who would have believed what we just heard?\u00a0 When was the Lord\u2019s <em>(<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/hebrew-dictionary\/#_yeh\u00f4v\u00e2h\">y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<\/a><em>, \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4)<\/em> power revealed through him?<\/p>\n<p>He sprouted up like a twig before God, like a root out of parched soil; he had no stately form or majesty that might catch our attention, no special appearance that we should want to follow him.<\/p>\n<p>He was despised and rejected by people, one who experienced pain and was acquainted with illness;\u00a0people hid their faces from him; he was despised, and we considered him insignificant.<\/p>\n<p>But he lifted up our illnesses, he carried our pain; even though we thought he was being punished,\u00a0attacked by God <em>(<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/hebrew-dictionary\/#_\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym\">\u02bc\u0115l\u00f4h\u0131\u0302ym<\/a><em>, \u05d0\u05dc\u05d4\u05d9\u05dd)<\/em>, and afflicted for something he had done.<\/p>\n<p>He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.<\/p>\n<p>All of us had wandered off like sheep; each of us had strayed off on his own path, but the Lord <em>(<\/em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<em>, \u05d5\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4)<\/em> caused the sin of all of us to attack him.<\/p>\n<p>He was treated harshly and afflicted, but he did not even open his mouth.\u00a0 Like a lamb led to the slaughtering block, like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not even open his mouth.<\/p>\n<p>He was led away after an unjust trial \u2013 but who even cared?\u00a0 Indeed, he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the rebellion of his own people he was wounded.<\/p>\n<p>They intended to bury him with criminals, but he ended up in a rich man\u2019s tomb, because he had committed no violent deeds, nor had he spoken deceitfully.<\/p>\n<p>Though the Lord <em>(<\/em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<em>, \u05d5\u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4)<\/em> desired to crush him and make him ill, once restitution is made, he will see descendants and enjoy long life, and the Lord\u2019s <em>(<\/em>y<sup>e<\/sup>h\u00f4v\u00e2h<em>, \u05d9\u05d4\u05d5\u05d4)<\/em> purpose will be accomplished through him.<\/p>\n<p>Having suffered, he will reflect on his work, he will be satisfied when he understands what he has done.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy servant will acquit many, for he carried their sins. \u00a0So I will assign him a portion with the multitudes, he will divide the spoils of victory with the powerful, because he willingly submitted to death and was numbered with the rebels, when he lifted up the sin of many and intervened on behalf of the rebels.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Paul described it this way for believers in Rome, <em>For God achieved what the law could not do because it was weakened <\/em>(\u1f20\u03c3\u03b8\u1f73\u03bd\u03b5\u03b9, another form of \u1f00\u03c3\u03b8\u03b5\u03bd\u03ad\u03c9) <em>through the flesh. \u00a0By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and concerning sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, so that the righteous requirement of the law may be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn20\"><sup>[20]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 And he described it this way for believers in Corinth: <em>God made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we would become the righteousness of God<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn21\"><sup>[21]<\/sup><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Who are you to pass judgment on another\u2019s servant?<\/em> Paul wrote.\u00a0 <em>Before his own master he stands or falls. \u00a0And he will stand, for the <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/30\/jesus-artifacts-part-4\/#sdfootnote5sym\">Lord<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/30\/jesus-artifacts-part-4\/#sdfootnote6sym\">is<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2012\/05\/30\/jesus-artifacts-part-4\/#sdfootnote7sym\">able<\/a> to make him stand<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn22\"><sup>[22]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 Though it may seem at first that this latter applies only to the less faith-weak, I don\u2019t think that is the case.\u00a0 I as a believer stand <em>not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ\u2019s faithfulness \u2013 a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ\u2019s faithfulness<\/em>.<a href=\"https:\/\/intelligent-torvalds.74-208-171-134.plesk.page\/2016\/07\/14\/romans-part-80\/#_ftn23\"><sup>[23]<\/sup><\/a>\u00a0 And this confidence in <em>Christ\u2019s faithfulness<\/em> may be
