The only significant differences between these two quotations is that the Septuagint began with \u03c3\u03cd (you<\/em>) in Psalm 62:12 and Paul\u2019s quote began with \u1f45\u03c2, translated as he<\/em> at the beginning of a new sentence. \u00a0Who<\/em> would have been a more accurate translation as a dependent clause.\u00a0 The note (14<\/a>) in the NET says as much: \u201cGrk<\/em> \u2018who.\u2019\u00a0 The relative pronoun was converted to a personal pronoun and, because of the length and complexity of the Greek sentence, a new sentence was started here in the translation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Since the Masoretic text had continually every day<\/em> (NET: constantly<\/em>\u2026all day long<\/em>) and the Septuagint had continually<\/em> here, I\u2019ll assume that Paul softened his message a bit from the original rather than that he had access to another (more original) version of the Septuagint.<\/p>\n
